I purchased my Horizon a month ago. I have used it everyday weather allowed and it's amazing ! I am a 53 yr old man but this PEV makes me feel like a kid again.(can't say "scooter" w/out feeling as if testosterone leaves my body up utterance!) LOL
I weigh 195 and it Max's out at 24 mph on flat straight away and 15% inclines at 15 mph or more. Range on 10.4 Amp is 23 miles. I wish I had gone with larger battery. That's my only regret since purchasing. If your on the fence..buy it! You will thank me later!

Horizon: Great Scooter
Bought the Horizon a month ago or so to meet a couple needs: get around campgrounds on vacation, and commute 14 miles roundtrip for work. I'm a big guy, 250lb, so the suspension and capacity were what caught my eye. I bought the 13ah for the extended range, and I'm very impressed. At first I was worried that the suspension would bottom out with my weight (another reviewer said it happened to him), but it's all good and the only way I would bottom this thing out is if I hit a pothole or something, but that's with anyone really. I just make sure my routes have as few hills as possible, but even on minor inclines the scooter still takes my bulky self at 18-20 mph. I just avoid the steep hills, or, if unavoidable, I walk it up to save the motor the extra stress. I have yet to go beyond 15 miles before I charge it, I haven't been brave enough to go further. But that's just me, I'm way too paranoid.
average speed for a guy my size on this thing is 21 mph, which is plenty fast enough for my city commute.
Foot board is wide and extremely sturdy, which is great for me. At 6'2" I have plenty of space for my stance, and the stem extends to the perfect height (which is at its max for me).
I was skeptical at first but I actually really like the finger throttle more than the thumb throttle, I feel like I have more control. The display is great, bright, and full of information. I like that it has the voltage meter for real-time readings, I pay way more attention to that than I do the battery bar as it tells a truer story about what's going on with the battery. Also, accessing the inner-menu for customizations is very easy, the manual maps it all out for you.
The lights are fantastic. The morning leg of my commute is in the dark, and this thing lights up wonderfully. The tail lights and flashing brake lights are a major plus, and I had a guy comment that he saw me "a mile off" (yes, an exaggeration) and that he appreciated it.
Braking is smooth, miles better than my daughter's GoTrax! I have yet to lock up the rear solid rubber tire, which I consider a good thing as it means I haven't had any super close calls. Speaking of the rear solid tire, I do wish it was pneumatic. That's not to say it's horrible, you just feel more from the road or sidewalk. But, the rear suspension helps greatly. Do not let the fact that the rear tire is solid keep you from buying the Horizon, it's just not that big a deal. Besides, no rear flats! The pneumatic front tire is definitely a plus since the front suspension is less effective than the rear, so it all evens out really.
Build quality is phenomenal. At over 40 pounds it makes my daughter's GoTrax feel feather-light, but the Horizon's construction is heavy duty. Solid. The only thing that annoys me is the rear mudguard (fender) makes that plastic-y vibration sound when you hit some bumps. Just to make sure that was the source I removed it, rode it, said "yep, that was it," and then put it back on. Now that I know the source of the sound, it's not a big deal. The manual says you're supposed to hear an obvious audible click when you unfold the scooter and the stem "snaps" into place, but mine doesn't do that. I just give it a couple extra pulls to make sure it's locked in, and it's easy enough to look and see. Some reviewers online have mentioned that they have to retighten the handlebar retention nuts as they ride because they come loose. I have yet to experience that, but I don't fold up the handlebar when collapsing the scooter, and I have the retention nuts pretty tight, so maybe that's why. Either way, not a problem. I wasn't sure I'd be a fan of the grips, but I actually wound up liking them. They give a sort of resting place for your palms, which is cool. Though I may wind up swapping them out for something a little more plush. I ride motorcycles, and I would love to get some leather-wrapped grips for this thing!
I had some questions about the suspension and whatnot, so contacted customer service. The guy I talked to was very knowledgeable, not just about the Fluid brand stuff, but scooters in general. We talked for a while and it helped quell my suspension concerns. He also brought up some good points about maintaining the life of the motor for a bigger person like me (such as walking the scooter up steep hills, avoiding altogether any grade over 10%, or mapping out my route to take the flattest roads possible even if it cost me a few extra minutes). I was certainly not offended, it was great advice!
Other than all that, I have nothing else to really say. I will edit if anything changes, but probably won't have to. It took me a while to purchase because I research the life out of everything (to the annoyance of my wife and kids) but I'm glad I finally settled on this one. I have absolutely zero regrets.

Also, accessing the inner-menu for customizations is very easy, the manual maps it all out for you.
The lights are fantastic. The morning leg of my commute is in the dark, and this thing lights up wonderfully. The tail lights and flashing brake lights are a major plus, and I had a guy comment that he saw me "a mile off" (yes, an exaggeration) and that he appreciated it.
Braking is smooth, miles better than my daughter's GoTrax! I have yet to lock up the rear solid rubber tire, which I consider a good thing as it means I haven't had any super close calls. Speaking of the rear solid tire, I do wish it was pneumatic. That's not to say it's horrible, you just feel more from the road or sidewalk. But, the rear suspension helps greatly. Do not let the fact that the rear tire is solid keep you from buying the Horizon, it's just not that big a deal. Besides, no rear flats! The pneumatic front tire is definitely a plus since the front suspension is less effective than the rear, so it all evens out really.
Build quality is phenomenal. At over 40 pounds it makes my daughter's GoTrax feel feather-light, but the Horizon's construction is heavy duty. Solid. The only thing that annoys me is the rear mudguard (fender) makes that plastic-y vibration sound when you hit some bumps. Just to make sure that was the source I removed it, rode it, said "yep, that was it," and then put it back on. Now that I know the source of the sound, it's not a big deal. The manual says you're supposed to hear an obvious audible click when you unfold the scooter and the stem "snaps" into place, but mine doesn't do that. I just give it a couple extra pulls to make sure it's locked in, and it's easy enough to look and see. Some reviewers online have mentioned that they have to retighten the handlebar retention nuts as they ride because they come loose. I have yet to experience that, but I don't fold up the handlebar when collapsing the scooter, and I have the retention nuts pretty tight, so maybe that's why. Either way, not a problem. I wasn't sure I'd be a fan of the grips, but I actually wound up liking them. They give a sort of resting place for your palms, which is cool. Though I may wind up swapping them out for something a little more plush. I ride motorcycles, and I would love to get some leather-wrapped grips for this thing!
I had some questions about the suspension and whatnot, so contacted customer service. The guy I talked to was very knowledgeable, not just about the Fluid brand stuff, but scooters in general. We talked for a while and it helped quell my suspension concerns. He also brought up some good points about maintaining the life of the motor for a bigger person like me (such as walking the scooter up steep hills, avoiding altogether any grade over 10%, or mapping out my route to take the flattest roads possible even if it cost me a few extra minutes). I was certainly not offended, it was great advice!
Other than all that, I have nothing else to really say. I will edit if anything changes, but probably won't have to. It took me a while to purchase because I research the life out of everything (to the annoyance of my wife and kids) but I'm glad I finally settled on this one. I have absolutely zero regrets.
